One of the best shrubs to brighten up a shady spot in the garden! Great for naturalizing, bottlebrush buckeye (Aesculus parviflora) is a Southeast native that blooms reliably in mid-summer (June-July). Spikes of gorgeous white flowers attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and other pollinators. Bottlebrush buckeye is a suckering shrub that can reach 8 or more feet high and wide. Responds well to pruning if smaller size is desired. Enjoy yellow fall color and interesting brown fruit. Hardy in zones 4-8. Deer-resistant, good for rain gardens.
