Original U.S. Winchester Model 1873 .44-40 Repeating Rifle with Heavy Round Barrel made in 1887 - Serial 246742B

Original Item: Only One Available. "The Gun that Won the West!" This lovely "frontier worn" Winchester repeating rifle is in .44-40 caliber, correctly marked 44 W.C.F. on the breech and of the barrel and 44 CAL. on the bottom of the brass carrier block. It features a desirable 24" heavy round barrel and full-length magazine tube. As with all examples, it is marked MODEL. 1873. on the upper receiver tang. Features the classic front sight and iconic "buckhorn" rear adjustable sight. The serial number is 246742B denotes the year of manufacture as 1887. The stamping on the top of the barrel is somewhat worn, but still legible: WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING-ARMS. NEW HAVEN CT.KING'S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29.1866. OCTOBER 16.1860. The walnut stocks are in very good condition, with a great dark red brown color and patina. There are scratches, dents, and other wear, but nothing out of line with honest wear on the frontier. We did not notice any repairs such as replaced wood or glued cracks. It
