Original U.S. Winchester Model 1873 .44-40 Repeating Rifle with Heavy Round Barrel made in 1890 - Serial 342040B

Original Item: Only One Available. "The Gun that Won the West!" This is a wonderful condition "frontier used" Winchester repeating rifle, correctly marked with 44 W.C.F. over the chamber and 44 CAL. on the brass carrier block. It features a very nice 24" "Heavy Wall" round barrel and full-length magazine tube. As with all examples, it is marked MODEL. 1873. on the upper receiver tang. It features the classic nickel blade front sight and iconic "Buckhorn" rear adjustable sight. The serial number is 342040B denotes the year of manufacture as 1890. The engraving on top of the barrel is still clear: WINCHESTER'S-REPEATING-ARMS. NEW HAVEN CT.KING'S-IMPROVEMENT-PATENTED-MARCH 29.1866. OCTOBER 16.1860. The stocks are in very good condition, with a great color and patina, showing some lovely grain. Both stocks have the lovely red brown color of aged oiled walnut. There are the expected small chips and dings expected from use on the frontier, but no major issues. The butt stock shows some fig
