United States Lines:  The complete set of all six volumes of Frank Braynard's epic work, "LEVIATHAN: The World's Greatest Ship".  Two volumes are signed by the author. The series tells in great detail the story of the ship, from her German origins as Hamburg American Line's VATERLAND to her final voyage to the breakers. Special emphasis is given to William Francis Gibb's amazing reconstruction of the ship after WW1.  The series provides a unique look at the birth, rebirth, voyages, and death of a famous ship. Frank brings to life the builders, the sailors, and the passengers who sailed her. My favorite story is the discovery in the 1920s of a walled in and forgotten barber shop, complete with dusty pictures of the Kaiser on the walls. Especially poignant are the photos of the grand interiors taken just before the ship was broken up. The books are in excellent condition and the dust jackets in good condition with light fading and a few rips.
