It is naturally raw and unpolished, and price factors in condition.* This glamorous little beauty is known as a black Herkimer diamond quartz, an unusual variety of quartz found in Herkimer County, New York. Black Herkimers are more rare than clear particularly in clusters of this size. This particular cluster was self-collected from Birthday Pocket, Diamond Mountain, Little Falls, NY, in August 2020! It features a large clear tip crystal with smaller crystals exhibiting double termination and twinning, with some abrasions and incomplete formations. The tip of the largest crystal is near perfect, but the body is split by multiple fractures. (There is a large fracture which runs the length of the crystal, and separates the clear section from the black inclusions.) Black inclusions in the cluster are a result of hydrocarbons and anthraxolite—they often have a lustrous appearance that is unique,
